Aizawl, Aug 5, 2025: Mizoram Governor and Chief Rector of Mizoram University (MZU), General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd), graced a grand ceremony at the MZU Auditorium to celebrate the institution’s NAAC A+ Grade (CGPA 3.30) accreditation. The event also marked the official launch of MZU’s e-Office Portal, a key step in the university’s digital transformation.
Congratulating MZU for the prestigious accreditation, the Governor lauded its growth since its inception in 2000 and its recognition as a leading academic institution in Northeast India. He noted MZU’s consistent presence among the top 100 universities in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) and its 15th place among Central Universities in the IIRF rankings.
Highlighting MZU’s academic and research milestones, he praised its implementation of the National Education Policy 2020, Academic Bank of Credits, h-index of 98, 46 patents, and pioneering adoption of online courses through MOOCs and SWAYAM. He also acknowledged the university’s unique DRDO Industry-Academia Center of Excellence, inclusive campus facilities, and diverse student body, which includes 43 international students from 15 countries.
MZU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dibakar Chandra Deka expressed pride in being among the few Central Universities to achieve the NAAC A+ Grade and urged the community to aim for an A++ grade in the future. The event also featured addresses by Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pravakar Rath, IQAC Director Prof. Diwakar Tiwari, and concluded with a vote of thanks from Registrar Prof. Lalnundanga.
