IMPHAL, August 14, 2025: On the eve of India's 79th Independence Day, Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla extended warm greetings and best wishes to the people of the state, calling upon citizens to honour the sacrifices of the nation's freedom fighters and renew their commitment to building a peaceful, progressive, and inclusive India.
In his Independence Day message, Governor Bhalla paid tribute to the countless men and women who dedicated and sacrificed their lives during India's freedom struggle. He said their courage, determination, and unwavering commitment to securing the nation's independence continue to inspire generations of Indians and serve as a guiding force in strengthening the country's democratic foundations.
Recalling the values that shaped the Republic, the Governor emphasised that democracy, justice, equality, and national unity remain the pillars of India's progress. He urged citizens to uphold these ideals and work collectively towards preserving the country's unity while contributing to its continued development.
"As we celebrate this national milestone, let us reaffirm our collective resolve to build a progressive, inclusive, and resilient India," Governor Bhalla said in his message, encouraging people from all walks of life to participate in the nation's growth with a spirit of responsibility and cooperation.
Highlighting Manipur's unique cultural heritage and historical significance, the Governor praised the people of the state for their resilience, creativity, and contributions to the country's development. He noted that the rich traditions of Manipur, coupled with the dedication of its people in fields such as education, public service, entrepreneurship, agriculture, sports, and the arts, have significantly enriched the nation's social and cultural fabric.
Governor Bhalla also stressed the importance of individual responsibility in nation-building.
