Arms, IEDs Recovered in Ongoing Security Operations Across Manipur

IMPHAL, Aug. 14, 2025: Security forces in Manipur have intensified search operations and area domination in fringe and vulnerable regions across districts, resulting in significant recoveries of arms and explosives.

On August 12, 2025, during a combing operation in the Dampi Ridge area near Moljang in Churachandpur district, forces recovered:

·       06 single barrel rifles

·       03 long-range Pompi mortars

·       05 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs)

·       01 pair of combat shoes

The following day, August 13, 2025, in a search operation at Konsakhul near the Singda River in a forested area under Leimakhong Police Station, Kangpokpi district, security personnel recovered:

·       01 single barrel 12-bore rifle

·       01 Pompi mortar

Authorities said these recoveries form part of sustained efforts to curb insurgent activity and ensure the safety of local communities.

Meanwhile, movement of 118 vehicles carrying essential goods along National Highway-37 was successfully secured under strict protection, with convoys deployed in sensitive stretches.

In a further show of vigilance, 112 Nakas (checkpoints) were set up across both hill and valley districts. Police reported no detentions during these checks.

Security officials reiterated that operations will continue to ensure peace, stability, and the uninterrupted movement of essential supplies across the state.
