Itanagar, August 11, 2025: The capital’s housing sector is set for a major transformation with the launch of a project to replace old, dilapidated government quarters with modern multi-storied flats. The foundation stone for the Construction of Multi-Storied Flats in place of Old Quarters at Itanagar Capital Complex was laid today in the presence of Hon’ble Urban Development Minister Shri Balo Raja and Advisor to the Minister Shri Techi Kaso.
Speaking at the event, officials emphasised that the initiative is not merely a construction project but a step towards ensuring organised, disciplined, and planned urban growth in Itanagar. Stressing the importance of responsible land use, it was reiterated that government land belongs to the public, and encroachment - particularly by those in public service - would not be tolerated. “If you choose to encroach, you must also be prepared to face the consequences,” it was stated.
