Gangtok, August 11, 2025: Sikkim celebrated its first Aama Samman Diwas today, a landmark event organised by the state government to honour the love, sacrifices, and resilience of mothers.
As part of the Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana, over 32,000 mothers across the state were each provided with ₹20,000 in financial assistance, free LPG refills, and access to newly inaugurated Aama Suvidha Ghars, designed to ensure their comfort and care.
Officials hailed the initiative as a tribute to motherhood and a step towards empowering women, ensuring their well-being, and recognising their vital role in society.
