Aizawl, Aug 22, 2025: The Mizoram Police Service Association (MPSA) held its 15th Conference today at G.S. Arya Mess, Police Headquarters, Aizawl, with Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma gracing the occasion as Chief Guest and Home Minister Pu K. Sapdanga as Guest of Honour.
In his address, the Chief Minister praised the contributions of MPS officers in safeguarding Mizoram, but cautioned that drug abuse continues to be the state’s gravest challenge, fueling the spread of HIV. He urged collective efforts to combat the menace, describing it as a battle for both physical and spiritual wellbeing.
Highlighting reforms and initiatives under his government, Lalduhoma noted:
• Strengthening of the Lok Ayukta with a dedicated Inquiry Wing, where three MPS officers have been deputed.
• Recruitment of 259 constables this year through what he termed “one of the fairest and most transparent” processes.
• Emphasis on the health and wellbeing of police personnel, encouraging officers to balance duty with family life.
• The importance of law as a more powerful tool than weapons, with a call for officers to stay updated with changing legislations.
Reaffirming Mizoram’s commitment to peace and development, he credited the police for helping the state remain one of the most peaceful in India. On the occasion, the MPSA Bio-Data 2025 was formally released.
