Aizawl, July 8: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Tuesday interacted with eight Mizoram Police Service (MPS) 26th Batch trainees, who are currently undergoing training at the Administrative Training Institute (ATI), during a meeting held at his office in Aizawl.
Addressing the trainees, the Chief Minister said they possess exceptional potential and would play a vital role in strengthening the state's police force and public administration. He encouraged them to pursue excellence not only in their professional training but also in acquiring additional skills that would benefit them throughout their careers.
Lalduhoma advised the trainee officers to develop proficiency in the Hindi language and enhance their knowledge of Information Technology, saying these skills would be valuable both in their future service and in contributing to the state's development.
Drawing from his own experience during IPS training and his years in public service, the Chief Minister emphasised that personal character, discipline and integrity are essential qualities for every police officer. He urged the trainees to remain committed to serving the people with sincerity, humility and professionalism.
Highlighting the nature of police work, Lalduhoma said policing is fundamentally a service to people in distress. Unlike many professions, police personnel often encounter individuals during their most difficult moments rather than their happiest ones. Therefore, he said, police officers should approach their duties with compassion and a spirit of public service while always striving to uphold justice and public trust.
