Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha attended the signing ceremony and described the initiative as a landmark development in the state's efforts to promote educational excellence, skill development and value-based learning.
According to the Chief Minister, the project recognizes the significant contribution made by the Ramakrishna Mission in the fields of education, character building and human development across India and particularly in Tripura, where the organisation has played a vital role in nurturing generations of students through quality education and social service.
The proposed School of Languages is expected to provide students and young professionals with opportunities to acquire proficiency in multiple languages, an increasingly important skill in a globalised economy. Experts believe language education can improve employability, facilitate academic exchange and open pathways to careers in diplomacy, tourism, business process outsourcing, translation services and international trade.
Alongside the language institute, the Ramakrishna Mission Centre for Human Excellence will focus on personality development, leadership, ethical values, life skills and holistic education. The centre is expected to offer programmes aimed at enhancing the intellectual, emotional and social capabilities of young people while promoting a culture of service, discipline and lifelong learning.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Saha said the initiative represents a visionary investment in Tripura's youth and will help equip them with the knowledge, skills and values needed to navigate the opportunities and challenges of a rapidly changing world.
He noted that education today must go beyond academic achievement and focus on developing well-rounded individuals capable of contributing positively to society. The proposed institutions, he said, would help create a generation of confident, skilled and socially responsible citizens.

The development also aligns with broader national goals under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasizes multilingual learning, skill development, holistic education and the integration of values with academic instruction.
Observers believe the project could emerge as a regional centre of excellence, attracting students not only from Tripura but also from other Northeastern states. The initiative is expected to strengthen the state's educational ecosystem while enhancing opportunities for youth empowerment, capacity building and human resource development.
With the establishment of the School of Languages and Centre for Human Excellence, Tripura is seeking to position itself as an emerging hub for innovative education and skill development in the Northeast, reinforcing the state's commitment to preparing young people for a competitive and interconnected global future.
