Extending his greetings to the people of Mizoram and Zo communities living across the world, Lalduhoma honoured all those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the land and its people.
Reflecting on Mizoram's history, the Chief Minister noted that the state endured nearly two decades of insurgency and unrest, during which development activities came to a standstill. It was only after the signing of the Mizoram Peace Accord in 1986 that the state was able to embark on a sustained path of peace, stability and development.
"The peace and harmony we enjoy today have enabled Mizoram to achieve remarkable progress in every sphere," Lalduhoma said, adding that the state's development serves as a reminder of the priceless value of peace.
Highlighting Mizoram's achievements, the Chief Minister said the state has emerged as one of India's leading performers in literacy, becoming the country's first state to achieve full literacy. He also noted that Mizoram ranks among the top-performing states in the Northeast in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and is recognised as one of India's happiest states.
Lalduhoma further observed that Mizoram's natural beauty, peaceful environment and hospitable people have attracted a growing number of tourists in recent years, enhancing the state's profile as an emerging travel destination.
Speaking about infrastructure development, the Chief Minister said Mizoram has witnessed significant progress with the arrival of railway connectivity to Sairang. He added that efforts are underway to extend the railway line to Thenzawl in the future.
He also highlighted the ongoing construction of the Vairengte–Sairang four-lane National Highway and several National Highway projects across the state, describing them as major infrastructure initiatives that will strengthen connectivity and accelerate economic growth in the coming years.
Lalduhoma stressed that the state's rapid progress has been made possible because of the peace and stability achieved through the Mizoram Peace Accord. He urged citizens to safeguard this legacy by maintaining harmony and working together to build a peaceful and prosperous future.
Concluding his Remna Ni message, the Chief Minister appealed to all sections of society to continue nurturing the spirit of peace that has defined Mizoram over the past 40 years, stating that lasting development can only be achieved in an atmosphere of unity and stability.
