The review meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner's Conference Hall in the Mini Secretariat, Churachandpur, where senior district officials, representatives of various line departments and administrative officers assessed the district's progress under the flagship programme of NITI Aayog.

Deputy Commissioner Shri Krishna Kumar, IAS, along with heads of departments and other officials, participated in the meeting, which focused on evaluating achievements and identifying gaps in the implementation of the Aspirational District Programme.

The discussions centred on the district's performance across 39 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) grouped under five major socio-economic themes. These include Health and Nutrition, Education, Agriculture and Water Resources, Financial Inclusion and Skill Development, and Infrastructure.

During the meeting, Shri Nagaranjan highlighted the importance of timely execution of projects and directed all departments to strengthen inter-departmental coordination to ensure effective implementation of government schemes. He said that close collaboration among departments would help achieve the objectives of the programme and improve service delivery at the grassroots level.

The Deputy Secretary also underscored the importance of regular monitoring and evaluation to maintain transparency, adhere to project timelines and ensure quality outcomes. He instructed officials to proactively identify implementation gaps and resolve them through coordinated efforts rather than waiting for issues to escalate.

Emphasising responsive governance, Shri Nagaranjan patiently heard grievances and suggestions raised during the meeting. He assured participants that genuine concerns would be taken up with the appropriate authorities for necessary action. Reaffirming the Government of India's commitment to the Aspirational District Programme, he said the initiative aims to accelerate holistic and inclusive development in identified districts through targeted interventions and better governance.

Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar assured the visiting official that the district administration would intensify efforts to improve the district's performance under the programme. He directed the Project Director of the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) to take a more proactive role in monitoring the implementation of the Key Performance Indicators and ensuring better coordination among departments.

The Deputy Commissioner also stressed the need to improve the quality and accuracy of data entry, noting that reliable data plays a crucial role in measuring progress and planning future interventions. He assured that the district administration would extend full cooperation and utilise all available resources to strengthen implementation across sectors.

Following the review meeting, Shri Nagaranjan visited Lamka South, one of Churachandpur's aspirational blocks, to inspect the construction of a specialised health unit for women and children. The facility is expected to strengthen healthcare services for mothers and children in the area and improve access to quality medical care.

The inspection was attended by Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar, IAS; Additional Deputy Commissioner Mualnuam, Shri Thangboi Gangte; BDO i/c Lamka South, Shri Jangminlen Lupho; SDO/BDO Tuibong, Shri Jameson Selhal Hangsing; the Project Director of DRDA; District Level Officers; and officials from various line departments.

Officials briefed the Deputy Secretary on the progress of the project and ongoing developmental initiatives in the aspirational block.

Churachandpur district currently has two Aspirational Blocks—Lamka South and Tuibong—both of which have earned national-level recognition for their performance under the Aspirational Blocks Programme. Their achievements have been acknowledged for demonstrating effective implementation of development initiatives across multiple sectors.

The visit by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs is expected to further strengthen the district's implementation of the Aspirational District Programme by promoting greater accountability, improving coordination among departments and ensuring that development projects are completed efficiently for the benefit of local communities. The review also reaffirmed the government's commitment to accelerating inclusive growth and improving the quality of life for people living in aspirational districts and blocks.
