Announcing the event, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed delight at welcoming the iconic rock band to the state, describing the concert as another milestone in Assam’s growing emergence on the international entertainment map.
The Chief Minister noted that the event follows the successful hosting of major international music performances in the state and is expected to attract visitors from across India and abroad. He said the influx of fans would not only boost tourism but also provide an opportunity to showcase Assam’s culture, hospitality, and economic potential.
Guns N’ Roses is regarded as one of the most influential rock bands in the world, known for chart-topping hits such as Sweet Child O’ Mine, November Rain, Paradise City, and Welcome to the Jungle. The band, led by Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan, continues to draw massive audiences globally decades after its formation.
The upcoming Guwahati concert comes amid renewed international activity by the band. In 2025, Guns N’ Roses returned to India after a 12-year gap with a major concert in Mumbai as part of their Asia tour, generating significant excitement among Indian rock music fans.
The band has also remained active on the global touring circuit. Their 2025 world tour attracted more than 1.3 million attendees worldwide and ranked among the highest-grossing rock tours of the year.
