Guwahati, June 8: Assam is set to host one of the biggest international music events in its history as legendary American rock band Guns N’ Roses prepares to perform in Guwahati on November 17, 2026, a development that is expected to further elevate the state's profile as a major destination for global live entertainment.
Announcing the event, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed delight at welcoming the iconic rock band to the state, describing the concert as another milestone in Assam’s growing emergence on the international entertainment map.
The Chief Minister noted that the event follows the successful hosting of major international music performances in the state and is expected to attract visitors from across India and abroad. He said the influx of fans would not only boost tourism but also provide an opportunity to showcase Assam’s culture, hospitality, and economic potential.
Guns N’ Roses is regarded as one of the most influential rock bands in the world, known for chart-topping hits such as Sweet Child O’ Mine, November Rain, Paradise City, and Welcome to the Jungle. The band, led by Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan, continues to draw massive audiences globally decades after its formation.
The upcoming Guwahati concert comes amid renewed international activity by the band. In 2025, Guns N’ Roses returned to India after a 12-year gap with a major concert in Mumbai as part of their Asia tour, generating significant excitement among Indian rock music fans.
The band has also remained active on the global touring circuit. Their 2025 world tour attracted more than 1.3 million attendees worldwide and ranked among the highest-grossing rock tours of the year.
Industry observers believe the Guwahati concert could significantly boost Assam’s tourism, hospitality, transport, and local business sectors. The event is expected to draw thousands of visitors to the city, creating opportunities for hotels, restaurants, transport operators, and small businesses.

With Guns N’ Roses now set to perform in Guwahati, music enthusiasts across the Northeast and the rest of the country are expected to witness one of the region’s most significant live entertainment events, further cementing Assam’s growing reputation as a destination capable of hosting world-class concerts and international cultural spectacles.
