Community Representatives Visiting Imphal for Peace Talks, Says Manipur CM Khemchand Singh

Tengnoupal, June 20: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Friday said that representatives from various communities and organisations have been visiting Imphal and engaging in discussions with the government as part of ongoing efforts to restore peace and normalcy in the state.

Addressing a gathering during the inauguration of the Girls’ Hostel at Mission Blind School in Laiching Heikakpokpi, Tengnoupal district, the Chief Minister emphasized that dialogue and mutual understanding remain the most effective means of achieving lasting peace in Manipur.

Khemchand Singh stated that continuous engagement among stakeholders is helping build trust and creating opportunities for resolving differences through peaceful means. He noted that leaders and representatives from different communities have been meeting government officials in Imphal to discuss issues and contribute to the broader peace-building process.

Appealing to the people to reject violence, the Chief Minister urged all sections of society to work together in maintaining peace, harmony, and stability. He expressed optimism that sustained dialogue and cooperation would help the state move steadily towards normalcy.

The Chief Minister was in Tengnoupal to inaugurate the newly constructed Girls’ Hostel at the Mission Blind School. The facility is expected to significantly improve accommodation and educational support for visually impaired girl students, enhancing their learning environment and overall well-being.

Khemchand Singh also thanked the people of the district for the warm welcome extended to him and reaffirmed the government's commitment to accelerating development and welfare initiatives in the region.

Highlighting the importance of inclusive growth, he said the government would continue to focus on improving educational infrastructure and ensuring that vulnerable sections of society receive the support needed to pursue quality education and lead dignified lives.

The Chief Minister reiterated that peace and development must go hand in hand and called on all communities to contribute towards building a more stable and prosperous Manipur.
