Aizawl, May 29, 2026: Reigning UFC Flyweight Champion Joshua Van paid a courtesy visit to Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma at the Chief Minister's Office in Aizawl on Friday, where the two discussed sports, youth empowerment, and the growing impact of international sporting achievements on young people in the state.

Welcoming the champion, Lalduhoma expressed his appreciation for Joshua Van's visit to Mizoram and congratulated him on his outstanding achievements in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), one of the world's premier mixed martial arts organisations. The Chief Minister said Joshua's rise to the top of international combat sports has become a source of pride and inspiration for the people of Mizoram, particularly aspiring young athletes.
He noted that the champion's success story serves as a powerful example of dedication, perseverance, and hard work, encouraging Mizo youth to pursue their dreams with confidence and determination. Lalduhoma also wished Joshua Van an enjoyable stay in Mizoram and extended his best wishes for continued success in his professional career.

"I want the Mizo people to consider me their UFC Champion. I regard Mizoram as my home and consider the people here as my brothers and sisters," Joshua said.

The meeting was attended by Sports Minister Lalnghinglova Hmar and MLA Lt. Col. Clement Lalhmingthanga, who accompanied the Chief Minister.
