Pakyong, May 5: The 2026 Vinod Pradhan Trophy concluded at the Mining Ground with the Cricket Association of Tathangchen (CAT) defeating Alpine Sporting Club (ASC) by 34 runs to win the SICA ‘A’ Division title.

Batting first, CAT posted 230 runs in 77.3 overs, with contributions from Lee Yong Lepcha (49), Parth Palawat (46), Aamir Iqbal Bhutia (38), and Roshan Kumar Prasad (36). Alpine SC bowlers Proloy Banerjee and Amit Rajera led the attack, claiming a combined nine wickets, including five by Banerjee.
In reply, Alpine SC were bowled out for 196 runs in 66.1 overs despite a strong unbeaten 105 by Anwesh K. Sharma and 55 by Gurinder Singh. For CAT, Subham Sharma delivered a match-winning performance, taking 5 wickets for 55 runs, while Abhishek Kumar and Akshay Sain picked up two wickets each.

Subham Sharma was named Player of the Match, while Akshay Sain earned Player of the Tournament and Highest Wicket Taker honours. Naushad Shaikh of Majhitar Sporting Club emerged as the tournament’s highest scorer.
The prize distribution ceremony was attended by Soreng-Chakung MLA Aditya Golay as Chief Guest, along with several dignitaries including Dr. Sunita Pradhan and senior officials.
CAT received a trophy and ₹3 lakh cash prize, while Alpine SC was awarded ₹2 lakh and a trophy. The tournament featured eight teams and was played at the Sikkim Cricket Ground, Mining.
This was the third edition of the tournament held in memory of Late Shri Vinod Pradhan, former President of the Sikkim Cricket Association, with the 2026 edition adopting a two-day, 90-overs format.
