Leh, May 2: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu inaugurated two exhibitions at the Central Institute of Buddhist Studies in Leh on Saturday, highlighting the rich spiritual heritage of Buddhism and its global influence.
One of the exhibitions was dedicated to Guru Padmasambhava, presenting the life, teachings, and enduring spiritual legacy of the revered master who spread the message of compassion and wisdom across the Himalayan region.
The second exhibition, titled “Buddhism Through Postage Stamps,” displayed an extensive philatelic collection of more than 2,500 stamps from around the world, depicting how the teachings of Gautama Buddha have transcended borders, cultures, and generations.

During his visit, Khandu also had the opportunity to pay respects to the holy relics of Gautama Buddha, including the revered Piprahwa Relics currently being exhibited in Ladakh. He described the moment as one of deep spiritual significance and expressed pride at witnessing the sacred relics in the region.
The Chief Minister said the Arunachal Pradesh government is working to bring the relics to the state as well, noting that Arunachal’s strong Buddhist heritage makes it a fitting place to host such a sacred exposition.
Khandu expressed hope that the teachings of the Buddha would continue to guide humanity towards compassion, harmony, mindfulness, and unity.
