Khonsa, May 1: Three insurgents belonging to the NSCN-K (Nikki Sumi faction) were apprehended during a joint operation conducted by the Assam Rifles and Arunachal Pradesh Police in Wancho Colony area of Khonsa in Tirap district, officials said.
The operation led to the arrest of Wingan Agan (33), Jhonny Riba (21), and Rajapeyu Khechan Khetey (30). Security forces also recovered two 7.65 mm pistols with magazines, nine live rounds of 7.65 mm ammunition, three mobile phones, three SIM cards, and three GPRN letters from their possession.
In addition, a small quantity of brown sugar valued at around ₹500 was seized during the operation.
Officials said the apprehended insurgents along with the recovered items have been handed over to Arunachal Pradesh Police in Khonsa for further investigation.

Security agencies stated that such coordinated operations are part of ongoing efforts to maintain security and curb insurgent activities in Tirap district and other sensitive areas of Arunachal Pradesh.
