Nagaland’s Alobo Naga and Toinali Chophi Honoured at WhosNext Influencer Awards 2026

Kolkata, May 11: Nagaland-based personalities Alobo Naga and Toinali Chophi were honoured at the WhosNext Influencer Awards 2026 – East & Northeast Edition held at Taj Taal Kutir in Kolkata on May 10.

Renowned musician and content creator Alobo Naga received the “Face of NE Influence Award” in recognition of his contribution to entertainment and digital influence in the Northeast. Entrepreneur and Bree Matcha co-founder Toinali Chophi was conferred the “NE Entrepreneur of the Year Award” for her achievements in business and lifestyle entrepreneurship.

The awards ceremony, presented by Oriflame Sweden in association with NDTV, WhosThat360, Red FM 93.5, Outlook Traveller, Gadgets 360 and Meghalaya Tourism, brought together leading creators, influencers and entrepreneurs from East and Northeast India.

Alobo Naga was nominated alongside singer-songwriter Taba Chake and actor-musician Andrea Tariang before winning the top honour. Toinali Chophi competed with personalities including Aimee Baruah and Lin Laishram.

Reacting to the recognition, Alobo Naga said the nomination itself came as a surprise and that he never expected to win.

“This award is not just for me, but for my people, my team, my family, and every young dreamer from the Northeast who dares to create, inspire, and stay authentic,” he said in a social media post, while expressing gratitude to God and the organisers for the honour.

The WhosNext Influencer Awards 2026 concluded in Kolkata after a 35-day campaign across the Northeast covering more than 5,000 kilometres. Organisers said the initiative aimed to recognise and empower regional creators while promoting the growing “orange economy” and creator-driven entrepreneurship in the region.

The event also featured several noted personalities and digital creators from across India, highlighting the rising national visibility of talent from the Northeast.
