Shillong, May 15, 2026: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Thursday held discussions with NASSCOM and industry leaders to explore opportunities for information technology, artificial intelligence and technology-driven investments in the state.

According to the Chief Minister, the meeting focused on strengthening Meghalaya’s technology and innovation ecosystem, with special emphasis on the proposed Centre of Excellence at Shillong Tech Park.
The deliberations also covered initiatives related to skill development and capacity building aimed at preparing the youth of Meghalaya for IT-driven employment opportunities and making them industry-ready.
Conrad Sangma stressed the importance of creating a clear roadmap to guide the state’s future growth in the technology sector and attract investments in emerging digital industries.
“Had a productive meeting with NASSCOM and industry leaders to discuss opportunities for IT, technology, and AI-driven investments in Meghalaya,” the Chief Minister stated in a social media post following the meeting.

He also thanked NASSCOM officials and participating industry leaders for their insights and contributions towards building a stronger innovation ecosystem in the state.
Responding to the meeting, NASSCOM expressed appreciation to the Chief Minister and reiterated its commitment to continued engagement and partnership to support growth and innovation in the region.
The discussions come as Meghalaya seeks to expand its digital infrastructure, promote startup ecosystems and position Shillong as a growing technology and innovation hub in the Northeast.
