Meghalaya CM Flags Off 95 Police Vehicles Worth ₹30 Crore to Strengthen Policing

Shillong, May 14, 2026: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Thursday flagged off 95 new vehicles for the Meghalaya Police worth ₹30 crore to enhance mobility and operational efficiency across the state.

The newly inducted fleet includes mini trucks, buses and jeeps aimed at strengthening grassroots policing, improving response time and boosting outreach in different parts of Meghalaya.

Sharing the update on social media, the Chief Minister said the additional vehicles would help improve policing capabilities and ensure that citizens feel safer and more secure.

“These additions will enhance policing capabilities, improve response and outreach, and help ensure that citizens feel safer and more secure across the State,” Sangma stated.

He also expressed appreciation for the service rendered by the state police force and thanked personnel for their continued dedication toward maintaining law and order.

The initiative is part of the Meghalaya government’s efforts to modernise policing infrastructure and improve public safety services across urban and rural areas of the state.
