Imphal, May 15: The Manipur Police team delivered an impressive performance at the 2nd All India Police Badminton Cluster Championships 2025–26 held in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, earning praise from Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand.
Congratulating the team, the Chief Minister lauded the contingent led by IPS officer Asana Sarangthem, Commandant of the 2nd Manipur Rifles, for their outstanding achievements in both badminton and table tennis events.
The Manipur Police Table Tennis Team secured the Overall 1st Runners-Up position in both the men’s and women’s team categories. The team won a total of 19 medals, including 5 gold, 7 silver and 7 bronze medals.

The Badminton Team also put up a strong performance, clinching 2 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze medals across various events during the championship.
In his message, the Chief Minister said the Manipur Police continue to uphold excellence not only in maintaining safety, security and law and order, but also in the field of sports. He described the team’s dedication, discipline and achievements as a matter of pride for the state.
He further extended his appreciation and best wishes to the entire contingent for their commendable performance and future success.
