Imphal, May 7: Manipur Police and security forces arrested a woman cadre of the banned Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) (PSC-Politburo Standing Committee) outfit from Imphal West district and recovered Rs. 6.81 lakh in cash during an operation conducted on Wednesday.

The arrested woman has been identified as Salam Ongbi Konjengbam Karuna Devi (51), alias Pipik, a resident of Sagolband Meino Leirak under Imphal Police Station limits in Imphal West district.
According to Manipur Police, security forces apprehended Karuna Devi from her residence on May 6 as part of ongoing operations against insurgent groups active in the state. During the search operation, personnel recovered a cash amount of Rs. 6.81 lakh, one mobile phone and an Aadhaar card from her possession.
Police suspect the seized cash may be linked to militant-related activities, though further investigation is underway to determine its source and intended use.
In separate operations carried out on the same day, security forces arrested three more active cadres linked to different insurgent outfits operating in the valley districts.

One KCP (PSC-Politburo Standing Committee) cadre, identified as Haobam Johnson Meitei (25), alias Sanathoi alias Sagei, was arrested from Lamlongei Awang Leikai under Lamsang Police Station in Imphal West district. A mobile phone and Aadhaar card were seized from him.
Another militant, identified as Wangkhem Rohit Singh alias Angkhei (25), an active cadre of PREPAK (PRO), was arrested from Chingmeirong Maning Leikai under Lamphel Police Station. Security personnel recovered two mobile phones and Rs. 1,400 in cash from his possession.
Meanwhile, Manipur Police also arrested Laishram Ibomcha Meitei (47), an active KCP (PSC-Politburo Standing Committee) cadre allegedly involved in the explosion near Imphal International Airport on May 3.
Police said Ibomcha Meitei has been remanded to 10 days of police custody for further investigation.
