Itanagar, May 10: Itanagar Police has appealed to the general public to assist in identifying an unidentified male body recovered from a jungle area near RP Gate under 4th IRBn at Jollang in Arunachal Pradesh.

According to a press note issued by police, the body was recovered in connection with Itanagar Police Station UD Case No. 07/2026 registered under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
Police said information was received at Itanagar Police Station on May 9 regarding a person found hanging by the neck in the jungle area near RP Gate. Following the information, a police team rushed to the location and recovered the body with assistance from SDRF personnel.
An inquest was later conducted in the presence of an Executive Magistrate.
Police stated that the deceased is believed to be a non-tribal male, although the exact age could not be determined due to the decomposed condition of the body.

At the time of recovery, the deceased was reportedly wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans. Police estimated the height of the deceased to be between 5.5 feet and 5.7 feet.
The body has been kept at the RKM Hospital mortuary in Itanagar for identification and completion of legal formalities.
Police have urged anyone with information regarding the identity of the deceased or any missing person matching the description to contact the Officer-in-Charge of Itanagar Police Station at 8414845955 or Investigating Officer SI Padam Padi at 8132015955.
Itanagar Police has also appealed to nearby police stations, village authorities, and relatives of missing persons to cooperate in identifying the deceased.
