Itanagar, May 10: IRBN Constable Tame Peter Tarh was crowned “Mr Arunachal 2026” at the 10th State Level Bodybuilding Championship held at the D.K. Convention Hall, marking a major milestone in the growth of bodybuilding and fitness sports in Arunachal Pradesh.

The championship, organised by the Arunachal Body Building Association under the aegis of the Indian Body Builders Federation and the Northeast Body Builders Federation, featured around 80 bodybuilders from across the state competing in various categories.
The prestigious “Champion of Champions” title fetched Tarh a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh. The event carried a total prize pool of Rs 10.10 lakh, making it one of the biggest bodybuilding competitions held in the state.
The Men’s Bodybuilding division was conducted across six weight categories ranging from 55 kg to 85 kg. Winners in each category received Rs 30,000, while the second and third-place finishers were awarded Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.
The championship drew enthusiastic participation from athletes representing different districts and fitness centres, showcasing discipline, physique and competitive spirit before a packed audience.
Chowna Mein congratulated Tarh on his achievement, noting that the constable is part of his security team. In a message shared on social media, Mein said he was proud to see a member of his team bring honour and recognition to the state through dedication and commitment to fitness.
“I am proud to see a member of my security team bring such honour and recognition through hard work and commitment towards fitness and excellence,” the Deputy Chief Minister said.
The event was attended by Wanki Lowang as chief guest and Lekang Likha Soni as guest of honour.
Renowned bodybuilding personalities including Karthikeswar Ravikumar, Arambam Bobby Singh, Hillang Yajik and other members of the fitness fraternity also witnessed the championship.
In the women’s category, Yaza Yangfo emerged victorious, reflecting the growing participation of women in physique sports in Arunachal Pradesh.
Following his victory, Tarh thanked his family, friends, gym members and supporters for encouraging him throughout his fitness journey.
