Itanagar, May 2: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has congratulated noted academician and folklorist Dr. Joram Aniya on her appointment as a full-time Member of NITI Aayog.

In a message shared on social media, the Chief Minister described the appointment as a proud moment for Arunachal Pradesh and the entire Northeast. He highlighted Dr. Aniya’s remarkable academic journey, noting that she is the first woman from the Nyishi community to earn a Ph.D. in Hindi, reflecting her dedication to scholarship and cultural preservation.
Dr. Aniya is widely recognized for her contributions to Hindi literature, folklore studies, and the preservation of Nyishi cultural heritage. Her work has focused on documenting indigenous traditions and promoting the rich cultural identity of Arunachal Pradesh.

Khandu said her extensive experience in education, research, and grassroots engagement would bring valuable perspectives to national policymaking, particularly in strengthening indigenous knowledge systems and promoting inclusive development.
The Chief Minister also expressed gratitude to Narendra Modi for recognising talent from the Northeast and entrusting Dr. Aniya with an important national responsibility.
Calling the appointment a moment of pride for the region, Khandu wished Dr. Aniya success in her new role and continued service to the nation.
