Dr. Joram Aniya Appointed Full-Time Member of NITI Aayog; CM Pema Khandu Congratulates

Itanagar, May 2: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has congratulated noted academician, folklorist, and educationist Dr. Joram Aniya on her appointment as a full-time Member of NITI Aayog, describing the achievement as a proud moment for Arunachal Pradesh and the entire Northeast region.

In a message shared on social media, the Chief Minister praised Dr. Aniya’s remarkable contributions to education, literature, and cultural preservation, stating that her appointment to one of the country’s premier policy-making institutions reflects her years of dedication, scholarship, and public service.

Khandu highlighted Dr. Aniya’s inspiring academic journey, noting that she is the first woman from the Nyishi community to earn a Ph.D. in Hindi. He said her achievement has not only broken barriers but has also served as an inspiration for generations of students and scholars from Arunachal Pradesh and beyond.

Widely respected in academic circles, Dr. Aniya has made significant contributions to Hindi literature, folklore studies, and the documentation and preservation of the cultural heritage of the Nyishi community. Through her research and writings, she has worked extensively to record indigenous traditions, oral histories, customs, and cultural practices, helping preserve the rich heritage of Arunachal Pradesh for future generations.

The Chief Minister observed that Dr. Aniya’s deep understanding of grassroots issues, combined with her extensive experience in education and research, would bring valuable perspectives to national policymaking. He expressed confidence that her expertise would contribute significantly to promoting inclusive development and strengthening the recognition of indigenous knowledge systems at the national level.

Khandu further stated that Dr. Aniya’s appointment demonstrates the growing recognition of talent and leadership emerging from the Northeast. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for entrusting a distinguished scholar from the region with an important national responsibility and for continuing to provide opportunities for greater representation of the Northeast in key institutions.
