The foundation stone-laying ceremony was attended by MLAs Techi Kaso, Nakap Nalo, and Rode Bui, along with senior government officials and representatives of concerned departments.

Speaking on the occasion, Khandu said the state-of-the-art facility would significantly enhance Arunachal Pradesh's ability to respond to natural disasters and emergencies through a centralized and technologically advanced command centre. The building will house modern control rooms, communication systems, conference halls, and dedicated emergency operation infrastructure under one roof.

The Chief Minister noted that the facility would strengthen coordination among various departments and agencies involved in disaster management, enabling faster decision-making and more efficient deployment of resources during emergencies.

Arunachal Pradesh is highly vulnerable to natural disasters such as landslides, flash floods, earthquakes, cloudbursts, and road connectivity disruptions due to its mountainous terrain and heavy monsoon rainfall. In recent years, the state has witnessed several weather-related incidents that have highlighted the need for stronger disaster response mechanisms and improved coordination among authorities.

The State Emergency Operation Centre serves as the central hub for disaster monitoring, information dissemination, emergency communication, and coordination of relief and rescue operations across the state. The new integrated SEOC-cum-SDMA complex is expected to further enhance these functions by providing modern infrastructure and advanced communication capabilities.

Officials said the project reflects the government's commitment to building a resilient Arunachal Pradesh and strengthening institutional capacity to address disaster-related challenges. Once completed, the facility is expected to become the nerve centre for emergency response, disaster monitoring, and coordination efforts across the state.

The Chief Minister said the project underscores the government's focus on safeguarding lives, protecting infrastructure, and ensuring timely and effective response to emergencies throughout Arunachal Pradesh.
