Tamenglong, April 17: Two leaders of the Rongmei Naga Youth Organisation Manipur (RNYOM), Tamenglong Luangrian, were killed in a tragic road accident along NH-137 (Tamenglong–Mahur Road) between Azuram and Makru under Tousem subdivision on Friday.

The deceased have been identified as Pouh Miusinreiyang Panmei, Chairman of RNYOM Tamenglong Luangrian, and Pouh Joy Panmei, Vice Chairman. They were among five occupants travelling to their worksite when the Gypsy vehicle they were in reportedly plunged into a deep gorge.
According to reports, the accident occurred after a portion of the road had been severely damaged and washed away due to a recent landslide. Unaware of the road condition, the vehicle allegedly moved toward the damaged stretch, lost control, and fell into the gorge.

Three other occupants sustained critical injuries and are currently undergoing treatment. The injured have been identified as Rajanglung of Tamenglong Khunjao, TP Dining of Tamenglong Khunjao, and RK Reuben of Tamenglong Bazar.
The bodies of the deceased were later brought to Jadonang Park in Tamenglong for funeral services.
Meanwhile, several Rongmei civil organisations have expressed deep sorrow over the untimely demise of the two youth leaders and conveyed their condolences to the bereaved families.
