In a press statement issued on April 14, the organisation alleged that around 9:00 am an escorted civilian convoy travelling from Yaingangpokpi to Litan was confronted and threatened by Kuki militants, despite the presence of central and state security forces in the area.

Later in the evening at around 6:00 pm, approximately five rounds were reportedly fired at an ambulance approaching from the Litan side, the TNFO said, describing the incidents as acts that endanger civilian lives and violate basic humanitarian norms.

The organisation stated that NH-202, a crucial lifeline connecting Ukhrul district and Kamjong district, has remained effectively paralysed for a prolonged period, severely disrupting civilian movement, supply chains and emergency services.

TNFO called on security forces, including the Border Security Force and the 4 Mahar Regiment, to take firm action against those responsible for initiating violence. While reiterating its belief in the neutrality and professionalism of the deployed forces, the organisation questioned the lack of visible corrective action despite repeated reports of armed provocations.

The group also urged the Government of Manipur to take immediate and decisive measures to restore safe and free movement along the highway and ensure accountability for all acts of violence.
