Kohima, April 16: Nand Kishore Yadav felicitated cadets of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Nagaland at a ceremony held at Lok Bhavan on April 16, 2026.

Addressing the gathering, the Governor expressed pride in honouring the cadets and commended their unity, discipline and dedication. He particularly congratulated them for successfully scaling Mount Saramati on March 19, 2026, along with their officers and staff.
The Governor also appreciated the participation of girl cadets and lady Associate NCC Officers in the expedition, describing it as a strong reflection of women’s empowerment and the increasing role of women in challenging fields.
Highlighting the initiatives undertaken by NCC Nagaland, he noted programmes such as Vibrant Village visits, Yuva Aapda Mitra training, Youth and Alumni Festival, National Integration Camps and trekking activities. He also acknowledged collaborative efforts through MoUs with institutions including NIELIT and ICAR.

According to the Governor, these initiatives help promote national integration, personality development and skill enhancement among youth, preparing them for future employment and responsible citizenship.
A total of 50 cadets and officials from the Mount Saramati Expedition Team were felicitated during the programme in recognition of their successful expedition and exemplary spirit of adventure and teamwork. The event celebrated the achievements of NCC cadets in Nagaland and reaffirmed their role in nation-building.
