He said the memoir traces the author’s journey from insurgency to democratic leadership and statesmanship.

The Governor noted that the story highlights how dialogue, understanding and perseverance can overcome complex challenges. He praised Zoramthanga’s dedication and lifelong commitment to learning, describing these qualities as hallmarks of strong leadership and political wisdom.

Highlighting Mizoram’s unique history, Singh said the state’s journey from conflict to reconciliation and peace stands as an example of the strength of democratic institutions. He expressed hope that the memoir would help younger generations better understand the region’s past while appreciating the importance of peace and democratic governance.

Speaking on the occasion, Zoramthanga said the publication of the memoir marks a significant milestone in his life. He revealed that the book was written with the help of personal diaries he maintained for over 50 years, which documented many of the events described in the memoir.
