Pakyong, April 21: A mini marathon promoting the message of “Nasha Mukta Sikkim” (Drug-Free Sikkim) was flagged off at Linkey under the Linkey–Parkha GPU on Monday as part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of Government Secondary School, Linkey.
The event was flagged off by MLA of Gnathang–Machong and Advisor to the Social Welfare Department and the Women, Child, Senior Citizen and Divyangjan Welfare Department, Ms. Pamin Lepcha.
Held under the theme “Together We Run, Together We Rise,” the marathon saw enthusiastic participation from youth and elderly residents, showcasing strong community involvement.

The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and encourage a healthy and drug-free lifestyle, especially among the younger generation.
A large number of local residents took part in the event, reflecting widespread public support for the campaign. Organisers said the programme highlighted collective efforts to build a drug-free and socially responsible society in the state.
