Imphal, April 21: National Sports University (NSU) student Konsam Jona Princie has brought pride to India and Manipur by winning a gold medal in Taijiquan and a silver medal in Taijijian at the 11th Moscow Wushu Stars 2026, held from April 15 to 21 in Moscow.

Jona Princie, a fourth-semester BPES student at the National Sports University, delivered an outstanding performance at the international event, showcasing exceptional skill and discipline in the Taolu category. Her achievement earned appreciation from the university community and sports authorities.
Congratulating the athlete, NSU Vice Chancellor (O) Dr. Shyam Sundar Rath, Registrar Dr. L. Dibamani Singh, DFO Smt. Maisnam Chanu Liklainu, Director (Extramural) Dr. N. Amitrasen Singh, along with faculty members and staff, extended their best wishes for her continued success in future competitions.
The Indian Wushu contingent also recorded impressive results at the championship. Achom Tapas, Hanjabam Langlentombi and Y. Bonish Singh won gold medals in Taolu events, while Mayanglambam Suraj secured one silver and one bronze medal.

In the Sanda category, Indian athletes Jiya, Rekha, Amit Das, Ansa Hassan Chishti, Aryan, Shiv and Surya Bhanu Pratap Singh clinched gold medals, while Monika Dolly, Anirudh Chaudhary and Dheeraj Chaudhary won silver medals. Nitin Chaudhary added a bronze medal to India’s tally.
The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER) also congratulated Jona Princie for her stellar performance, highlighting the growing contribution of athletes from Manipur to India’s success in international sports.
