The earlier suspension had been imposed as a preventive measure in view of the prevailing law and order situation in the districts of Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Kakching and Bishnupur. The restriction had come into effect from 2:00 PM on April 7 and was initially scheduled to remain in place for three days before being extended.

Authorities noted that the suspension had affected several essential services and institutions, including High Courts, district courts, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, refuelling centres, electricity recharge services, LPG booking, taxation offices and other online citizen services.
