Manipur Police Arrest Arambai Tenggol Member Over Inflammatory Facebook Posts

Imphal, April 20: Manipur Police have arrested a 23-year-old man from Imphal East for allegedly posting provocative and inflammatory content on Facebook that could incite violence and disturb public order.

According to a statement issued by Manipur Police on social media, a Facebook account titled “Meetei Nongsa Lamyanba” was found sharing highly provocative posts, including threats and calls for violence.

Following an inquiry, police identified the person behind the account as Tensubam Lamyanba Meitei (23) of Imphal East. He has been arrested in connection with the case.

Police also stated that the accused is a member of Arambai Tenggol (AT), a Meitei group that has been in the spotlight amid the ongoing tensions in Manipur.

Authorities said the investigation is ongoing to determine the full scope of the activities linked to the account.

Manipur Police warned that strict legal action will be taken against individuals who attempt to incite violence or disrupt communal harmony through social media or any other means.
