In a public statement titled “An Appeal for Sanity and Peace,” Dikho expressed deep sorrow over the recurring violence in the state, describing the loss of lives at Mulam as a tragedy not only for the affected families or communities but for the entire state of Manipur.
The Deputy Chief Minister noted that despite repeated calls for peace and understanding among communities, the cycle of hatred and violence continues to claim precious lives. He emphasised that violence does not bring justice or reclaim what has been lost, but instead creates suffering and bitterness.
“Violence offers no solution. It will not build a future for our children. There is no victory in a grieving land,” Dikho stated in the appeal.
Calling on community leaders, parents, and especially the youth, he urged them to turn away from the path of violence and work collectively to stop the ongoing cycle of conflict before it causes further devastation.
Dikho also stressed the importance of dialogue and reconciliation, saying that the people of Manipur must choose the difficult but noble path of peaceful dialogue rather than destructive actions driven by anger.
He further expressed prayers for the families of those who lost their lives in the Mulam incident and called for collective wisdom among the people of the state to pursue a future based on peaceful coexistence and mutual understanding.
The Deputy Chief Minister concluded his appeal by urging citizens to allow peace to lead the way and help heal the wounds caused by prolonged conflict in the region.
