Manipur CM Yumnam Khemchand Reviews Airport Terminal, Road Upgradation Works

Imphal, April 13: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand on Monday inspected the ongoing upgradation works at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport and road improvement works at Paona Bazaar to review the progress of key infrastructure projects.

During his visit to the airport, the chief minister was accompanied by the Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, Commissioner (Home), Director of the Airport, and Director of Transport. The team reviewed the progress of the new terminal upgradation project and inspected the Air Cargo Terminal facilities.

Khemchand noted that significant progress had been made in the construction work and expressed hope that the project would be completed on time, which would greatly enhance passenger convenience and improve service delivery at the airport.

However, the chief minister also pointed out certain shortcomings in workmanship at a few locations and directed concerned officials to immediately rectify the deficiencies to maintain quality standards.

Later, Khemchand inspected the ongoing road upgradation work at Paona Bazaar, where he observed substantial progress towards the timely completion of the project. While appreciating the progress, he also identified some execution gaps and instructed officials to address them promptly to ensure durability and quality.

The chief minister reiterated that the government remains committed to strengthening infrastructure and delivering efficient, high-quality public facilities for the people of Manipur.
