In the statement dated April 13, 2026, the group reiterated its firm position that no Meitei individual would be allowed to cross the buffer zone between Kanglaipak (Meitei land) and Tengnoupal district (Kuki land) until the Government of India officially acknowledges the separation between Kuki and Meitei areas and fulfils the demand for a Separate Administration in the form of a Union Territory with a legislature.
The VVEZ also issued a stern warning to the Chief Minister and his associates, stating that Tengnoupal is not Kangpokpi and that the Kuki community remains united. The group cautioned that any attempt at intimidation or coercion would face strong resistance.
