In a statement issued on April 30, the committee claimed that security forces have identified those responsible for repeated attacks in Kuki areas but have been unable to act decisively due to alleged political pressure.
The statement alleged that several Kuki villages have faced sustained and coordinated attacks, including a major assault in Mulam–Shongphel on April 24 and attempted assaults on multiple villages on April 28. It also referred to recurring targeted firings in Mongkot Chepu and nearby areas.
The organisation further expressed concern that recent security operations were directed toward villages that had come under attack rather than against those responsible for the violence.
According to the statement, the situation has raised serious concerns about impartiality and has eroded public trust in both state and central authorities.

“In light of this, the WCKCSOs hereby impose a restriction on the entry of security forces into all Kuki villages in Ukhrul until credible, impartial, and effective action is ensured,” the statement said.
The committee said the decision was taken amid growing concerns among villagers about security operations and called for decisive action against those responsible for the attacks to restore public confidence.
