Imphal, April 29: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand chaired a review meeting on property tax collection by the Imphal Municipal Corporation (IMC) at the Secretariat on Wednesday.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister assessed the current pace of property tax collection and discussed measures to streamline the system and improve efficiency. Officials also deliberated on introducing a phased approach to strengthen property tax collection in the state capital.

The government emphasized the need for better revenue mechanisms to support urban development and improve civic services. The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing urban governance and ensuring a sustainable revenue system for the overall development of Manipur.

Officials noted that improving property tax collection will play an important role in strengthening the financial capacity of municipal bodies and supporting infrastructure development in Imphal.
