Shillong, April 20: Cherrapunji Eastern Craft Gin, a premium gin from Meghalaya, has been honoured with the prestigious Red Dot Award: Product Design for 2026, placing the Northeast-based brand among a global list of products recognised for innovation, functionality and outstanding design.

The Red Dot Award, widely regarded as one of the world’s most respected design competitions, celebrates excellence in product design, communication design and design concepts. Products are evaluated by an international jury based on innovation, usability, quality and aesthetic appeal.
Cherrapunji Eastern Craft Gin is produced in Cherrapunji, one of the wettest places on Earth, and is crafted using harvested rainwater. The gin incorporates unique regional botanicals from Northeast India, including the peels of Kaji Nemu, Khasi mandarin, cardamom from the Garo Hills, juniper sourced from Sikkim, and smoked tea from Manipur.
The award-winning bottle design draws inspiration from the landscape and cultural identity of Northeast India. Unlike traditional glass bottles, the gin is packaged in a durable SS304 stainless steel bottle, making it lighter, more sustainable and suitable for long-term reuse.
A distinctive feature of the bottle is its built-in pouring mechanism, which allows users to measure precise 30 ml and 60 ml servings, effectively integrating a jigger into the bottle itself.
Cherrapunji Eastern Craft Gin has already gained international recognition and is regarded as India’s most internationally awarded gin brand. The brand has previously received multiple global accolades at prestigious spirits competitions, including awards at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, London Spirits Competition, and other international tasting events.
