Namchi, April 29, 2026: The annual fest AIKYAM 2026 of the Sikkim Institute of Science and Technology was held successfully over two days with enthusiastic participation, vibrant cultural performances, and various competitions showcasing student talent.
The inaugural session was graced by Chairman of SIMFED, Tenzing D. Bhutia, as the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries present included Special Secretary, Technical Education, Department of Education, Bibhuti Pradhan, Registrar of SBTE, Rita Dhakal, along with faculty members and students.
The programme began with a welcome address and ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Principal-cum-Director B.B. Pradhan highlighted the importance of such events in promoting creativity, unity and holistic development among students.
In his address, Chief Guest Tenzing D. Bhutia spoke about the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, urging students to remain vigilant against drug abuse and to channel their energy into education, sports and innovation.
The cultural segment featured a welcome song, dance performances and an AIKYAM video presentation. A Battle of Bands competition was among the highlights, where TNT (Teachers and Tunes) from B.Ed College, Soreng emerged as the winner. The first day concluded with an energetic DJ Night, drawing enthusiastic participation from students.
The second day began with competitions including Solo Song, Group/Duet Dance, Fashion Show and Solo Dance. The programme was attended by SDM of Jorethang B.B. Rai as Guest of Honour and Ward Panchayat Santosh Pradhan as an esteemed guest.
A major highlight of the day was the Mr./Ms. AIKYAM competition, where participants were judged on personality, confidence and presentation. The event also featured a Poetry Competition, along with exhibitions of winning entries in painting and photography.

An alumni performance added a nostalgic touch before the Prize Distribution Ceremony, where winners of various competitions were felicitated.
The evening concluded with a lively performance by the band The Dreamcatchers, creating an electrifying atmosphere and bringing AIKYAM 2026 to a memorable close.
Overall, the two-day fest was widely appreciated for its excellent organization, strong student participation and vibrant display of creativity and cultural expression.
