Gangtok, April 29: The 3rd Edition of the Sikkim Kalakar Sammelan will be held in Gangtok from May 8 to May 9, 2026, bringing together artists from across the Himalayan state to celebrate and promote Sikkim’s vibrant creative community.
The event is being organised under the leadership of Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang and guided by former MLA Krishna Kumari Rai. The Sammelan has now been institutionalised under the Art, Culture and Heritage Development Board, Government of Sikkim, highlighting the state government’s commitment to nurturing art and culture.
The two-day gathering is expected to serve as a platform for artists, performers, filmmakers, writers, and creative professionals from different districts to interact, showcase their talent, and discuss opportunities for strengthening the cultural and creative sectors in the state.
Earlier editions of the Sikkim Kalakar Sammelan have drawn large participation from the state’s artistic community, featuring sessions by representatives from fields such as music, theatre, filmmaking, dance, fashion, and digital content creation. These forums allow artists to share ideas, voice concerns, and explore ways to turn creative talent into sustainable careers.
