The project is aimed at improving road connectivity between Lamlai and Thoubal Dam, providing better transportation infrastructure for residents while facilitating economic development in the surrounding areas. The flag-off ceremony was attended by MLAs, senior government officials, engineers, local leaders, and members of the public.

Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Khemchand Singh said the project represents more than the construction of a road, describing it as an important investment in the future development of the region. He stated that improved connectivity would strengthen economic activity by making it easier for farmers, traders, and entrepreneurs to transport their goods to larger markets while reducing travel time and transportation costs.

The Chief Minister noted that better road infrastructure would also improve access to essential public services, including education and healthcare. Students, patients, and daily commuters are expected to benefit from safer and smoother travel once the project is completed. He added that enhanced connectivity would encourage tourism and create new livelihood opportunities for local communities.

Highlighting the government's development agenda, Khemchand Singh reaffirmed that infrastructure remains a key pillar of Manipur's long-term growth strategy. He said the road project aligns with the vision of building a stronger, self-reliant, and economically vibrant Manipur through inclusive and sustainable development.
