Senior officials presented updates on the status of the ongoing works, while legislators shared suggestions aimed at improving execution and addressing local concerns.
During the review, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of developing a modern and forward-looking sewerage system capable of meeting the demands of Imphal's expanding urban population. He directed the concerned departments to plan infrastructure with long-term sustainability in mind, ensuring that the sewerage network can accommodate future urban growth and improve sanitation standards across the capital region.
The Chief Minister also emphasised that concrete pavement projects must prioritise durability, quality construction, and adherence to engineering standards. He noted that high-quality roads would minimise recurring maintenance costs, improve traffic movement, and provide long-lasting benefits to residents. Officials were instructed to closely monitor the quality of construction materials and workmanship while ensuring that all projects are completed on schedule.
Later in the day, Chief Minister Khemchand Singh chaired a separate meeting of the Organising Committee for Shirui Festival 2026, attended by MLAs and senior government officials.
