Temjen Imna Along Graces Cultural Session of 8th Poumai Naga Naotumai Me General Conference

Senapati, February 27: The 8th General Conference of the Poumai Naga Naotumai Me (PNNM) was inaugurated on Thursday at the Senapati District Headquarters under the theme “Ignite Your Sparkle,” and will continue till February 28.

The inaugural function was hosted by Joshila Sharma, wife of Th. Radheshyam Singh, MLA of 33-Heirok Assembly Constituency, as Chief Host. Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho graced the opening ceremony as Chief Guest.

The programme began with the hoisting of the PNNM Union Flag by R.B. Pani, President of Poumai Naga Union (PNU), followed by the unveiling of a monolith by Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho, who received a warm traditional welcome. The session was moderated by Enoli Regina R and Eli S. Doveinai Sha.

In his address, Losii Dikho emphasized the vital role of women in preserving culture and fostering unity. He noted that the progress of families and society largely depends on women’s contributions and encouraged collective efforts for lasting peace in Manipur.

The cultural session on February 27 was graced by Nagaland Minister for Tourism & Higher Education, Temjen Imna Along, as Chief Guest. Dr. Tseilhoutuo Rhutso, MLA of 9-Kohima Town Assembly Constituency, attended as Guest of Honour, while Mamoni Doley, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Senapati, was present as Special Guest.

Sharing his experience, Temjen Imna Along described the gathering as a heartwarming celebration of tradition, praising the strength of women who uphold cultural values. He expressed hope that the spark of heritage and unity would continue to shine across generations.

The programme was attended by J. Kumo Sha, MLA of 47-Karong Assembly Constituency, former PNNM leaders, Poumai ex-MLAs and representatives of various organisations. Cultural performances and traditional dances added vibrancy to the celebration.
