Itanagar, February 25, 2026: Lhakpa Tsering of West Kameng district was crowned Mr Arunachal 2026 at the grand finale of the 8th edition of the state's premier male pageant held at the DK Convention Hall in Itanagar.
The prestigious competition witnessed strong performances from contestants representing various districts of Arunachal Pradesh. In a closely contested finale, Nabam Tada secured the title of 1st Runner-Up, while Vivek Sangcho was declared the 2nd Runner-Up.

The event was attended by Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Kento Jini as the Chief Guest and Itanagar Municipal Corporation Mayor Likha Nari Tadar as the Guest of Honour. The judging panel comprised renowned fashion designer Boney Darang Nyickyor, DIPRO Yupia Ramar Jokik, and Dr Nabam Teyi, Associate Professor at NERIST.
Lhakpa Tsering, a civil engineering graduate from Senge Dzong village and a member of the Monpa tribe, created history by becoming the first contestant from West Kameng district to win the coveted title. His achievement has been widely celebrated in the district and is expected to inspire aspiring young men across the state to participate in similar platforms.

Apart from the main titles, several contestants were recognised for their individual talents and abilities. Kamin Tali won the Mr Talent award, Lidak Geyi was named Mr Photogenic, and Lobsang Gengla secured the Mr Best Physique title. Other subtitle winners included Techi Loyen Tara (Mr Best Costume), Vivek Sangcho (Mr Viewers’ Choice), Nabam Tada (Mr Fitness), Keni Kamum (Mr Best Walk), and Kadom Nopi (Mr Civic Sense).
Organisers described the pageant as a celebration of confidence, discipline, leadership, and cultural pride. Congratulating the winners, Minister Kento Jini said such platforms help nurture personality, intelligence, and leadership qualities while empowering the youth of Arunachal Pradesh to become role models in society.
