Addressing the inaugural session of a three-day high-level review workshop at Pragya Bhavan, the Chief Minister spoke to educationists and stakeholders from across the North-Eastern region. The workshop aims to review the status and progress of NEP 2020 implementation across the Seven Sisters and Tripura, and to chart a coordinated academic roadmap for the region.
Paying tribute to the teaching community, Dr. Saha said the success of any educational reform ultimately depends on teachers, whom he described as the “true torchbearers” of change. He identified three key pillars essential for effective implementation of NEP 2020 - continuous training of educators, unwavering dedication to student-centric learning, and sincere hard work in executing the policy at the grassroots level.
“Teachers are the backbone of this transformative journey. Their commitment and preparedness will determine how successfully the policy translates from vision to classroom reality,” the Chief Minister said.

The workshop is being seen as a crucial platform for North-Eastern states to align their academic priorities and share best practices. Key discussions during the three-day event include reviewing the rollout of NEP 2020 in Tripura and neighbouring states, harmonising educational standards across the region, and assessing the status and performance of academic institutions and infrastructure.
Dr. Saha said the deliberations reflect the broader national goal of achieving a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India), stressing that the North-East should play a leading role in the country’s education reforms rather than remaining on the margins.
Delegates attending the workshop are expected to use the remaining sessions to identify regional challenges and draft a practical roadmap to strengthen NEP implementation across the North-East.
