Dibang Valley, February 01: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Sunday inaugurated a series of major tourism infrastructure projects at Acheso (Dambuen) near the picturesque Matu Waterfall, marking a significant milestone in the development of tourism in Dibang Valley.

The Chief Minister formally inaugurated the Sky Walk, Roller Coaster, and a newly developed Tourism Complex, describing the occasion as a landmark moment for the district’s tourism sector. Surrounded by the breathtaking natural beauty of Dibang Valley, the new facilities are expected to transform Acheso into a prominent tourist destination and attract visitors from across India and beyond.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Khandu said the projects reflect the state government’s commitment to unlocking the tourism potential of remote regions while ensuring sustainable and inclusive development. He expressed confidence that the new attractions would provide visitors with unique, safe, and memorable recreational experiences while creating economic opportunities for local communities.
“These tourism assets will not only enhance the visitor experience but also generate new livelihood opportunities for local residents through tourism-related activities and services,” the Chief Minister said.
Khandu emphasized that the government remains focused on promoting eco-friendly tourism that preserves the region’s rich natural environment and cultural heritage. He noted that Arunachal Pradesh’s scenic landscapes, diverse traditions, and unique biodiversity offer immense potential for responsible tourism development.
The newly inaugurated facilities are expected to significantly increase tourist footfall in the region and encourage local participation in hospitality, transportation, handicrafts, and other tourism-linked sectors. Officials believe the project will contribute to employment generation and stimulate economic growth in Dibang Valley.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Member of Parliament Tapir Gao, senior government officials, local representatives, and community leaders. The Acheso tourism project forms part of the state government’s broader strategy to develop tourism infrastructure in remote areas and showcase the natural beauty of Arunachal Pradesh to national and international visitors. With the addition of these attractions, Acheso is poised to emerge as a major destination for adventure, leisure, and nature tourism in the state.
