Security Forces Recover Arms, Explosives in Imphal West and Churachandpur

Imphal, February 28: Security forces carried out separate operations in Imphal West and Churachandpur districts, recovering a cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives, according to Manipur Police.

On February 27, during a search operation at Sangaithel Makha Leikai under Patsoi Police Station in Imphal West district, security personnel recovered one modified .303 rifle without magazine, two locally made bolt-action single barrel guns, and four pistols with magazines.

The forces also seized two No.36 HE grenades without detonators, one HE bomb, fifteen .303 ammunition rounds with three charger clips, eight .303 blank cartridges, one SLR blank cartridge, one bulletproof vest with two iron plates, two camouflage helmets, and three bags.

In a separate operation conducted on February 26 in the forest area of Thinghijang village under Churachandpur district, security forces recovered one AK-47 rifle with magazine, three single barrel guns, one bolt-action single barrel, and one bolt-action sniper rifle with scope.

Additionally, seven 7.62 mm fired cases and two SLR magazines were seized from the site.

Police officials stated that search operations and area domination exercises continue in vulnerable areas to maintain law and order and prevent unlawful activities.
