Pema Khandu Invites Public Suggestions for Arunachal Budget 2026–27

Itanagar, February 14, 2026: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has called upon citizens across the state to actively participate in the formulation of the Arunachal State Budget 2026–27, inviting them to share ideas, suggestions, and development priorities through a public consultation initiative.

The move is aimed at making the budgeting process more inclusive, transparent, and responsive to the aspirations of the people. By encouraging public participation, the state government seeks to ensure that the upcoming budget reflects grassroots needs and addresses the concerns of various sections of society.

Announcing the initiative, Chief Minister Khandu emphasized that good governance is strengthened when citizens are directly involved in decision-making processes. He said public feedback plays a crucial role in shaping policies and development programmes that have a meaningful impact on people's lives.

“Every citizen has valuable insights and ideas that can contribute to the progress of the state. Through this participative budgeting exercise, we want to hear the voices of the people and incorporate their aspirations into the development roadmap of Arunachal Pradesh,” Khandu said.

According to an official announcement issued by the Department of Finance, Planning & Investment, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, citizens can submit their suggestions online through the dedicated portal. The government has set February 20, 2026, as the last date for receiving submissions.

To encourage greater public involvement, the government has also announced incentives for the most impactful proposals. The top five suggestions selected through the process will receive a cash award of ₹50,000 each. Officials stated that the initiative is designed not only to gather innovative ideas but also to promote a sense of shared responsibility in the state's development journey.

The participatory budgeting exercise forms part of the government's broader efforts to strengthen transparency, accountability, and citizen engagement in governance. The state government has appealed to citizens from all districts, including students, professionals, entrepreneurs, farmers, and community leaders, to come forward with constructive suggestions that can help shape a stronger, more prosperous, and vibrant Arunachal Pradesh.

Officials expressed confidence that the initiative will generate valuable inputs and foster a deeper partnership between the government and the people in building the future of the state.
