Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio Flags Off ALS Ambulances Under Toyota CSR

Chumoukedima, February 12, 2026: In a major boost to emergency healthcare services in Nagaland, the IDAN–Toyota CSR Initiative Asset Handing Over Ceremony was held at Zone Niathu by The Park, Chumoukedima, where Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances were formally handed over and flagged off.

The programme was graced by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, who lauded the collaborative efforts of the Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) and Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd. under its CSR initiative. He stated that the deployment of ALS ambulances would significantly strengthen emergency response services and help save lives across the state.

The Chief Minister noted that Toyota CSR partners have consistently contributed to Nagaland over the past three years in sectors such as youth development, sports, and emergency support. He appreciated the company’s continued commitment, describing the provision of vehicles and premium public service assets as a reflection of responsible corporate engagement.

Deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton also attended the ceremony and expressed appreciation for the collaborative initiative. He emphasized that such partnerships enhance public service delivery and bring tangible benefits to citizens.

Among those present were Abu Metha, Chairman of IDAN and Advisor to the Chief Minister, and Mr. Vikram Gulati, Executive Vice President & Country Head – Corporate Affairs & Governance, Toyota Kirloskar Motor. MLA and Advisor H. Tovihoto Ayemi described the initiative as “more than an asset handover - a handshake of trust,” expressing hope for continued collaboration in strengthening education, healthcare, and livelihood opportunities.

Reiterating the government’s priorities, the Chief Minister said health and education remain central to Nagaland’s long-term development and dignity. He thanked Toyota Kirloskar Motor and commended IDAN and concerned departments for the timely execution of the initiative.

The ALS ambulances and other assets handed over under the CSR programme are expected to benefit communities across multiple districts in Nagaland.
